I. Members Business Conduct

Members are expected to uphold the highest standards of ethical and lawful business practices. This commitment entails:

  • Legal Compliance: Members shall strive to adhere to the legal framework of Montenegro, ensuring that their business activities are in strict accordance with the country’s laws and regulations.
  • Non-Assistance in Violations: Members will refrain from knowingly aiding or abetting any third party in contravening Montenegrin laws, thereby promoting a culture of legal compliance and integrity.
  • Anti-Corruption: Members are prohibited from engaging in any form of bribery, graft, or participation in fraudulent or corrupt practices. They must maintain the highest level of integrity in their business dealings.
  • Contractual Commitments: Members will honor their contractual obligations and commitments, demonstrating reliability and trustworthiness in their professional relationships.
  • Fair Competition: Members are bound by the principles of fair competition, ensuring that they do not engage in any unethical, anti-competitive, or monopolistic practices that could harm other businesses or consumers.
  • Respect and Fairness: In all interactions with fellow members and business partners, members are expected to demonstrate fairness, respect, and goodwill, fostering a collaborative and mutually beneficial business environment.
  • Government Relations: Before taking a position on specific matters with government officials, members should seek to align with AmCham to present a unified voice, promoting effective advocacy and representation.
  • Transparency: Members shall be transparent in their communication with government officials and highlight AmCham’s positions and advocacy efforts, ensuring that there is clarity and openness in these interactions.
  • No Improper Influence: Members must refrain from attempting to influence government officials through the exchange of gifts, monetary incentives, or any form of information that could be construed as seeking undue favor or advantage.

It refrains from seeking special treatment based on improper use of personal relations while conducting professional activities.
