This was announced at the meeting of the Minister of Health, dr. Vojislav Šimun, with the delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce, led by President Mrs. Svetlana Vuksanović.

At the meeting, it was assessed that AmCham cooperates on a partnership basis with the Ministry of Health and other leading institutions and local and international organizations, to identify and apply regulations and best practices in the field of health. In this sense, through the Platform “Rule of Dialogue”, the cooperation between AmCham and health institutions is strengthening, intending to improve policies and measures to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of medicines, as well as healthcare modernization. The digital transformation of the health system and the availability of innovative medicines in Montenegro are defined as two AmCham strategic directions.

In addition, the interlocutors agreed that there are several areas for cooperation, primarily expert and financial assistance in the field of pharmacoeconomics, prevention of diseases that burden the population the most, such as chronic non-communicable diseases, quality control, accreditation, procurement of modern medical equipment and others.

AmCham representatives informed the Minister of Health that their Health Committee is currently working on a comprehensive project to prepare a report on the assessment of the health and pharmaceutical market in Montenegro. The report is based on a comparative analysis among reference countries, which include Montenegro, Slovenia, Italy, Romania, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The main goal of this research is to identify and define the key areas of development for Montenegro in the health sector.
