AmCham Montenegro and the Montenegro Business Alliance held a meeting at the offices of MBA on February 27, 2014. The aim of the meeting was to discuss current labor regulations in Montenegro and reforms necessary in order to improve the business climate.

AmCham Montenegro presented its position document, produced by its Labor Relations Committee, which presents AmCham’s recommendations to improve the labor regulations in Montenegro.

MBA representatives presented their views regarding the labor relations, which were in line with ideas proposed by AmCham’s position document. MBA considers discharge procedures as one of the main problems with current labor regulation. Namely, the difficulty employers have to dismiss employees who do not effectively execute their work obligations.

Both associations agreed to cooperate on labor issues in Montenegro and to work in line with other business associations on introducing reforms to this arena.
