Digital transformation as a key priority of Montenegrin society and economy

American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro organised today a discussion and business luncheon with representatives of U.S. Trade Mission which gatheres 22 U.S. companies from ICT industry and Clean technology, at the hotel Hilton. It’s the first trade mission of this kind in Montenegro, during which the guests from the USA will meet key decision makers, identify business opportunities and initiate discussions with prominent business partners in Montenegro.

-This Trade Mission is historic for Montenegro, being the first of its kind and hopefully the first of many more to come. We have a very active Digital Transformation Committee recognised as one of the main driving forces of change in this area, said Ms. Svetlana Vuksanović, AmCham President.

Presedent emphasized that AmCham represents the leading voice of the business community in Montenegro. Our mission is to advocate for a predictable and transparent business environment, based on the Rule of Law, a business environment that is built on standards which US and EU companies are accustomed to, and that will attract them to come and stay in Montenegro.

H.E. Judy Rising Reinke, U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro, highlighted that this ICT and Clean Technology Trade Mission is the first ever U.S. government trade mission to Montenegro, and that having this many representatives from American companies together in Montenegro is an indicator of Montenegro’s commercial potential.  “The Trade Mission will serve as a step in further developing bilateral trade and economic cooperation between United States and Montenegro, one of the Embassy’s top priorities,” Ambassador Reinke said.

“Strengthening our bilateral commercial partnerships with like-minded democratic countries like Montenegro is a priority, especially by working with private sector representatives in the country. Partners like AmCham Montenegro are key to increasing bilateral trade,” Deputy Assistant Secretary David De Falko said.

Mr. Mladen Grgić, Director of Montenegrin Investment Agency presented to the guests the current situation in the ICT industry and the Clean technology industry, potential areas and projects for investment, while within the expert session, in which participated Mr. Nenad Novović, CEO, Amplitudo, Mr. Predrag Lešić, CEO, doMEn, Mr. Ivan Mrvaljević, Director of Development and Investment Department, EPCG and Mr. Vuk Vukašinović, Expert for development of software products, Crnogorski Telekom and President of AmCham Digital Transformation Committee, representatives were able to hear more from experts about the potentials, but also the challenges on the way to the digital transformation of Montenegrin society, and potential areas for cooperation.
