More intensive cooperation between the American Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Health within the “Rule of Dialogue” Program

Podgorica, June 29 – The American Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Health signed a Memorandum of Cooperation within the Chamber’s new program called “Rule of Dialogue”. The memorandum was signed by Minister of Health, Mr. Dragoslav Šćekić and President of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Svetlana Vuksanović.

Vuksanović said that the signing of the Memorandum is another step towards better cooperation in order to improve the business environment, stating that there are many areas in which the Chamber and the Ministry can cooperate.

“With this Memorandum, the American Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Health open space for cooperation in the overall strengthening of public health, improvement of policies and measures to ensure the quality, safety and effectiveness of medicines. Together, we can work on further modernization of healthcare, designing regulations important for the business environment in the field of healthcare and medicines, all for the sake of creating a more agile and sustainable healthcare system, which is based on innovation. I believe that the experiences of AmCham members can help improve the use of digital technologies in the Montenegrin health system, through the use of telemedicine, personalized and precise medicine” explained Vuksanović.

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed as part of the program of the American Chamber of Commerce called “Rule of Dialogue”. The goal of this program is to raise the level of mutual understanding between the private and public sectors through a timely, continuous, high-quality and open dialogue.

“It is important to include the business community in the procedures of drafting laws and other regulations at an early stage and to consult them when creating policies that have an impact on the business environment. This is how we eliminate business barriers at the very beginning and together we participate in creating a predictable and transparent business environment based on the rule of law. Such an environment is the basis for attracting renowned investors from the USA and the countries of the European Union,” said Vuksanović.

The Minister of Health, Dragoslav Šćekić, said that he is happy to continue the cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce, which will be formally extended with the signing of this Memorandum. He said that the American Chamber of Commerce in the Ministry of Health has a reliable partner that strongly supports intensive cooperation in order to improve the business environment, based on the rule of law and equal opportunities.

“I believe that as a society and community we all keep health high on the list of priorities because only a healthy society can contribute to development and be the backbone of the country’s prosperity and progress in all its areas. Our goal is to strengthen the public health system in all segments, which will result in the patient and his needs as an imperative, but also personnel and infrastructure training as an incentive for the work environment that this area truly deserves,” Šćekić said.

Šćekić added that the help of the American Chamber of Commerce will come in handy, because, as he stated, changes in regulations in certain areas are expected in the coming period.

“Dialogue and suggestions through further cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce will make that job easier, and the goals of the ministry attainable and faster,” said Šćekić.

We remind you that on June 6, at the “Open with the Prime Minister” event, an umbrella Memorandum on Cooperation on the “Rule of Dialogue” program was signed between the Government of Montenegro and the American Chamber of Commerce, and that the American Chamber of Commerce will sign special Memorandums on Cooperation with relevant ministries in the Government, which will precisely define areas of cooperation and key joint activities within the “Rule of Dialogue” program.
