AmCham Montenegro General Assembly Meeting, July 20, 2021

(Podgorica, July 20, 2021)

The American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro held an Annual General Assembly Meeting on July 20, where we adopted the financial statements for 2020, elected six new members of the Board of Governors, and awarded the certificates to those members of the Board whose mandates will expired soon.

Ms. Katarina Bulatović, an individual AmCham member, Mr. Luka Popović from BDK Advokati, Mr. Nenad Novović from Amplitudo and Mr. Sava Laketić from PricewaterhouseCoopers were elected as new members of the Board of Governors, while Mr. Predrag Lešić from doMEn and Ms. Sanja Ćalasan from Pivara Trebjesa were re-elected. These six members, along with existing BoG member Ms. Svetlana Vuksanovic from Philip Morris Montenegro, will begin their new terms on August 1, 2021.

The General Assembly Meeting was also an opportunity to host H.E. Judy Rising Reinke, the U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro who addressed our members.

In the months ahead, the United States and Montenegro will launch a bilateral economic dialogue, deepening our cooperation on trade and investment issues while also creating new opportunities for U.S. businesses. Engaging the private sector in working groups will be paramount to the success of the ongoing dialogue, and we will look to AmCham as a key partner in this process, said H.E. Rising Reinke.

It is no secret that investors seek stability and predictability. In the long run, new investment sets the scene for new jobs, infrastructure development, additional revenue, and a better standard of living for the citizens of Montenegro. It raises Montenegro’s profile on the international stage. Investors become curious. They want to know about new markets and new opportunities, pointed out the Ambassador.

In a conversation with H.E. Judy Rising Reinke, the President of the Board of Governors, Mr. Nikola Tripković,said that AmCham will always be focused on development, and on that road we will treasure inputs from the U.S. Embassy to further ameliorate the organization and  the Montenegrin business environment in order to attract more US investments. AmCham Montenegro remains devoted to its mission and values strongly believing that only a transparent and predictable business environment, based on the rule of law can attract new reputable investors, but also motivate existing ones to stay in Montenegro, concluded Tripković.
