The American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro (AmCham Montenegro) is an independent private business association. It receives no subsidy from any governmental body. AmCham Montenegro is financed strictly from the private sector (membership dues and service fees) to cover its operating expenses. AmCham is governed by the Board of Governors (elected by the General Assembly) and the Executive Director (hired by the Board). In addition to promoting Montenegro and advantages of its emerging market to potential foreign investors, AmCham Montenegro will seek to cooperate with the Montenegrin government in improving the business environment for investment. AmCham Montenegro supports the acceleration of Montenegro's integration path with the European Union and entry into the World Trade Organization. AmCham Montenegro will promote "good corporate citizenship" and model business practices. Serving as an information point, AmCham Montenegro will develop a series of business-oriented activities to facilitate interaction between American and local companies.
