Intellectual Property Rights Protection Workshop

AmCham Montenegro, in cooperation with its member company Čikom, hosted a workshop entitled “How to identify illegal software on your computer?” for the representatives of the Administration for Inspections Affairs and the Tax Authority. The focus of this session was to improve the knowledge of inspectors in the area of intellectual property rights (IPR) protection. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Dragoslav Kenjić, the Technical Director at Čikom.

Today’s workshop elaborated on the topic of software legality in the light of the increased use of “cloud” services and online product purchasing, as well as the identifying the newest software versions from various producers, which are being used in Montenegro. The workshop was attended by 19 inspectors.

The work of AmCham’s Grey Economy Committee is greatly focused on IPR protection, mainly through the education of relevant state authority and business entities about the importance of IPR protection. AmCham Montenegro will continue to organize similar workshops in order to raise public awareness about the necessity of full implementation of the regulatory framework in the area of IPR protection.
