Info session on “Competition law: Restrictive agreements and practices”

Podgorica, June 19- AmCham Montenegro, supported by member company BDK Advokati, organized the info session on “Competition law: Restrictive agreements and practices”. The lecturer was Ms. Bisera Andrijašević, LL.M., associate from BDK Advokati.

Competition law is a comprehensive set of rules aimed at protecting market competition from violations that are the result of an independent or joint action of market participants. Restrictive agreements are particularly damaging to consumers, and hence the prescribed penalties for participation in cartels are high, both at the level of the European Union and in Montenegro, which has aligned its regulations with the EU acquis. Restrictive agreements are not always obvious, so companies can also be penalized for the seemingly common exchange of commercial information. Therefore, each company must have the knowledge in order to prevent becoming a victim of unlawful conduct of competitors, and in order to avoid the violation of the competition rules in the business.

Therefore, info session provided AmCham member companies a brief and practical insight into these rules.
