AmCham Labor Relations Committee held a first quarterly meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare within the program PBBE

AmCham Labor Relations Committee held a first quarterly meeting this year, within the program Partnership for Better Business Environment (PBBE) with the representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare on Wednesday, 28 February. The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare was represented by Mr. Zoran Ratković, Director of Directorate for Labor, and Mrs. Marina Vučićević, Chief in the Directorate for Labor.

The meeting was used as an opportunity to discuss the Labor Law, as its solutions are still in the focus of the activities of the Labor Relations Committee. Present representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare have informed the Committee members about the dynamics of the aforementioned Law, accordingly to the adopted Governmental Action Plan for 2018.  According to it, the adoption of the Labor Law is left for the third quarter of the current year, since the harmonization with the European Commission is yet to be done. The representatives of the Ministry explained that the Law is based upon the social dialogue between the social partners and that its solutions represent compromise between all participants of the dialogue. Labor Relations Committee pointed out to the importance of the Labor Law, as one of the main pillars of Montenegrin investment policies as well as the increase of the competitiveness of its economy.

At the end of the meeting, the attendees expressed their contentment with the partnership and announced more intensive collaboration within the Program Partnership for Better Business Environment.
