AmCham Health Care Committee discussed Lists of Drugs within PBBE

(PBBE) The third meeting of AmCham Health Care Committee within the framework of the Partnership for a Better Business Environment was held on Monday, October 23rd, 2017. The meeting, in addition to member companies: Sanofi, MSD, Novartis and BDK Advokati, was attended by the representative of the Ministry Health Mr. Nikola Antović, Secretary General of the Ministry. The main topic of the meeting was the status of Lists of Drugs.

Mr. Antović, informed members of the Health Care Committee that the work on Lists of Drugs is still undergoing and that they will start implementing the Lists from the beginning of the next year. The parties pointed out that the predictability of the business environment is directly related to the stability in the supply of drugs. Also, the Public Procurement Law was discussed as problematic, since it does not recognize the special procedure for procurement of drugs. Since AmCham has a representative in the working group for drafting new Public Procurement Law, it has been noticed that the HCC should also have an active role in formulation of legal solutions of this law, in order to properly regulate the procurement of drugs. Cooperation between private and public sector is of great importance for the professionalization of the state administration, Mr. Antović stated.

The parties expressed their satisfaction at yet another meeting within PBBE and emphasized timely involvement of the AmCham business community in the decision-making process and the creation of a regulatory framework related to the business environment.
