AmCham Officially Launched the Partnership for a Better Business Environment

On Thursday, April 13, at the premises of the American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro (AmCham Montenegro), within the framework of the Partnership for a Better Business Environment, the PBBE Grey Economy Committee held its first meeting. The topic of today’s discussion was the Draft Law on Enterprises. In addition to AmCham member companies, the meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Economy: Mr. Goran Nikolić, Director General of the Directorate for Industry and Entrepreneurship, as well as the representative of the working group for drafting the Law prof. Dr. Vladimir Savković, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Montenegro. During the meeting, attendees discussed the proposed solutions of the Ministry of Economy and submitted comments on the text of the Draft Law, prepared by member companies of AmCham. At the end of the meeting the future steps regarding the work of the PBBE Committee on the proposed solutions for the Law on Enterprises were agreed.

The Partnership for a Better Business Environment is AmCham’s platform for cooperation conducted with the ministries of the Government of Montenegro, starting from April 2017. The aim of the Program is to improve mutual understanding between the public and the private sector in Montenegro.

The basic idea of the Program is to provide the representatives from member companies and the representatives of relevant ministries an opportunity to discuss pressing issues in a team atmosphere, all with the goal of improvement of the business environment.

In this way, the Program will contribute to the more efficient removal of barriers for business, but also to the quality of legal norms, documents and a better implementation of the actual legal norms by both the Government departments and the private sector.
